Abbey House

Abbey House is a small residential home registered for 8 people with Prader Willi Syndrome and any associated care need.

Located in the beautiful area of Netley Abbey in Hampshire, Abbey House is central to a wide range of activity access with Victoria Country Park on his doorstep, a shore line at the end of the road and access to nearby towns such as Southampton, Fareham, Hedge End.

The home opened in January 2018 and aims to provide a friendly, relaxed and homely environment, tailored to individual needs for those who use our service. Abbey House will support each individual to maximise their independence and exercise their choices and rights in ways that impact positively on their lives.

We will promote an atmosphere of openness, dignity and respect and empower the people we support to take control of their lives, make their own decisions and fulfil their maximum potential as valued members of their community. Each person has a meaningful activity plan which is planned with the homes activities co-ordinator.

24 hour care and support is provided. We are not registered to provide Nursing Care; however, we can access the appropriate facilities from the community nursing team should they be required at any stage during the individuals stay with us.

Abbey House also has continuous support from a dietitian who will oversee each individual’s dietary plans and will provide input and support to the home with regular reviews.

Each person living within the home is promoted to maintain independence and support is given by skilled staff to make sure these areas are maintained. People’s values, beliefs and interests are listened to and support is given to carry out their wishes.

The home operates an open and transparent philosophy which gives people the right to raise concerns and express themselves. Each person’s opinions are valued and listened to which provides a positive atmosphere throughout the home.
