History

Dolphin Homes was originally formed in 1988 and commenced trading as a single residential care home for the elderly in Alverstoke, Hampshire.

In 2003, the decision was taken to expand and diversify into the Learning Disability field and we opened Myrtle Cottage in February 2004.  Two further Learning Disability homes were opened in 2005, including our first home to cater for both Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities with Complex Health Needs.

In late 2005, the decision was taken for Dolphin Homes to concentrate solely on care and support of clients with a Learning Disability and or Physical Disabilities and Dolphin Homes now operates 13 homes across Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey all of which are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

In 2012 our sister company Dolphin Care Limited was formed and we opened our first nursing service for people with an acquired brain injury in North Baddesley near Southampton.

Dolphin Homes continues to be owned and run as a family business and many of our staff have been with us from the beginning.  Our focus is always on the care and support of the people who live in our homes, our “Dolphin family”.
