It’s not easy to know how to keep cool in this hot weather but being on the water is a good option… so long as you can do this safely. It was therefore a wonderful opportunity for some of our Sea Breeze residents when they got to enjoy a trip along the Basingstoke Canal, courtesy of the Accessible Boating Association.
The ABS is a charity run by volunteers which offers those with disabilities or mobility difficulties the opportunity to go boating, something which is otherwise often very difficult. The cost is £15 per person but carers go free and it is a wonderful way to cool down and share a different view of our lovely countryside. The lucky three boarded the barge, called ‘Dawn’ at Cole Hill Wharf in Odiham and thoroughly enjoyed their trip down the canal.
