Canal Trip for Sea Breeze Residents

It’s not easy to know how to keep cool in this hot weather but being on the water is a good option… so long as you can do this safely. It was therefore a wonderful opportunity for some of our Sea Breeze residents when they got to enjoy a trip along the Basingstoke Canal, courtesy of the Accessible Boating Association.

The ABS is a charity run by volunteers which offers those with disabilities or mobility difficulties the opportunity to go boating, something which is otherwise often very difficult. The cost is £15 per person but carers go free and it is a wonderful way to cool down and share a different view of our lovely countryside. The lucky three boarded the barge, called ‘Dawn’ at Cole Hill Wharf in Odiham and thoroughly enjoyed their trip down the canal.  To find out more about Accessible Boating Association, please visit their website
